Haire Care Ingredients
To make DIY hair care recipes, you will need eggs (yes I know this sounds weird but trust me!), Rhassoul clay, Dried soapwort root , and henna.
The misconception about shampoos
Switching from commercial shampoo to homemade organic natural shampoo (Aka going No Poo) is not an easy affair…We have been so brainwashed by advertising that washing our hair MUST involve some kind of massive bubble making.
You may think that the more bubbles and lather your shampoo makes, the cleaner your hair will be?…this is a common misconception!
Commercial shampoos contain harsh chemicals such as detergents, synthetic materials, and stabilizers.
Just google methylisothiazolinone, sodium laureth, and sodium lauryl sulfate which are common shampoo ingredients and you will never EVER buy another commercial shampoo. According to scientific studies, these chemicals contribute to cancer, liver disorders, hormones disruptions, and neurological diseases…
I hope these natural hair care recipes will inspire you to switch to a homemade shampoo and nourishing treatments.

Tips for Natural Hair Care
Patience is key as is PH balance. Human hair and scalp have a slightly acidic pH balance of between 4.5 and 5.5. This natural hair acidity prevents fungi and bacteria in the hair and scalp and keeps the cuticle closed and healthy. If you have dandruff, it means your scalp is too alkaline. Test your current shampoo with some pH strips (also called litmus test paper strip); it’s cheap and easy to use and takes out the guesswork.

No Poo Shampoo Recipe

That’s it…I finally have gone NO POO! ‘No poo’ is a natural alternative to shampoo that does not use soap or other lathering ingredients. Commercial soap-based shampoos use harmful chemicals, like sodium lauryl sulfate, to achieve the rich lathering effect. While most of us have grown accustomed to the suds-effect, its not necessary for clean hair and it introduces harmful chemicals to our system. Additionally, soap strips the hair of its natural oils, which can lead to brittle, damaged strands. Which dangerous chemicals are lurking in conventional shampoos? Sodium lauryl sulfate is commonly added to shampoos (and even toothpaste) for…
