Another wonder from Morocco, Rhassoul clay has been used for over 12 centuries and is rich is magnesium, silica, potassium and calcium. It is used to clean hair and skin, help regulate sebum imbalances, and it also fights hair flakes while leaving your hair soft and shiny. This Rhassoul clay hair mask is definitely one of my favorite secret beauty recipes from north Africa!

Rhassoul clay is harvested from the Atlas mountains of Morocco and also goes by Ghassoul clay red clay and red Moroccan clay. It is similar to another common beauty clay, Bentonite clay, but has an even higher mineral content. This makes it especially good for the skin and Rhassoul clay is often used to reduce blackheads, acne and skin irritation. It’s also been shown to improve skin elasticity and overall texture. On hair, it also improves elasticity – this means less breakage! The mineral content also strengthens the hair shaft. What’s not to love!

Where to buy Rhassoul clay online?

You can buy Rhassoul clay online from retailers like Amazon, or smaller natural beauty stores. Remember, for it to truly be Rhassoul clay, it has to come from Morocco. Do not purchase products that do not disclose the place of origin. You should also check to make sure that there are no other ingredients listed aside from the clay itself. Remember that it may also go by one of its other names: red clay, Moroccan red clay or Ghassoul clay.
