Toothpaste Recipes

Natural toothpaste is just as effective as conventional versions, but without the harmful ingredients!
Many conventional toothpastes have a drying effect on the teeth and the gums. They typically also contain synthetic ingredients and toxic chemicals like triclosan and sodium lauryl sulfate – just google them and you’ll know that you don’t want them in your mouth! Not only do you ingest these harmful chemicals when you brush your teeth, but the drying effect on your mouth can also lead to more bacterial buildup and bad breath!

Instead, you can use plant-derived ingredients that have natural anti-bacterial effects and do not dry out your mouth. These recipes take advantage of botanical superpowers that allow them to cleanse the teeth and oral cavity.

Some of my favorite ingredients are bentonite claybaking sodaaloe vera juice,  peppermint essential oil, and coconut oil.
