Melt all ingredients on low heat in a double boiler or in a bowl placed in a pan filled with water.
Once ingredients have melted take it off the heat, add the maple syrup and put the bowl in another cold water bowl.
Start whipping immediately with an electric mixer (egg white beater) or cream foamer until the liquids form a thick cream, it should only take 2 minutes since there is little quantity.
Add the essential oil if desired and whip for a few seconds.
Scoop the lip butter in round lip balm containers. This should fill 5 lip balm containers that are 10 ml each.
