If you have over indulged in finger licking pastries and sweet chocolate last week end (like I did) and your face shows that you have gone too far. Do not worry, I got your back!

I think we can all agree that a breakout is no fun. So I’ve created this Ayurvedic face mask recipe for acne which will work wonders to restore balance, heal pimples and remove blackheads. Knowing how to make a face mask for acne can be a life saviour (for your face and your wallet!).

If you are constantly battling with acne, I strongly suggest seeing a naturopath to find out what food intolerances you have. Making a face mask for acne is like a bandage when you need a surgery. Nothing beat prevention and a “healthy diet”! Beauty is inside out. I personally found out that removing refined sugar and dairy from my diet really help cleared my skin.

The problem with sugar is that it hid everywhere: in breads, sauces, drinks like lemonades, soda or fruit juice from concentrate, cereal, and of course any other processed foods.

Did you know that the location of pimples on your face can help pinpoint your body imbalances?

Forehead:  Your digestive system is having a hard time breaking down foods. Possible food intolerance.

Cheeks: Respiratory track imbalances and allergies trigger.

Nose: Heart and blood pressure imbalances.

Chin: Hormones imbalances.

Ayurveda is an ancient system of life (ayur) knowledge (veda) originating from India thousands of years ago. Without getting into too many details, Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine in the world, using natural herbs and minerals.

In this Ayurvedic face mask recipe for acne, I have used sacred lotus seed powder, amla fruit powder, multani mitti clay powder and organic rose hydrosol.

Sacred lotus seed powder is astringent (shrinks pores), helps regenerating skin cells and will give you a smooth and glowing skin. It is also gently exfoliating.

Amla fruit powder is rich in vitamin C, it highlights skin tone and purify the skin. It is also good to flight wrinkles.

The multani mitti (fuller’s earth) clay detoxifies, purifies, balances and cleans your skin gently.

This Ayurvedic face mask recipe for acne works as healing mask for pimples and to clean, restore your skin balances. Just remember to also look at the problem inside out. Your diet and lifestyle has the biggest impact on your skin.

Note: Always do a patch test when using new herbs on your skin to test if you are not allergic. Simply put a small amount of the mask on the inside of your elbow for 15 min and wait 24h to see if you have reaction. I know this may sound cumbersome to have to wait but it’s best to safe than sorry.

Hi jennnifer, simple, combine all the ingredients in a container except the rose water and tell your friend to mix it only at the last minute when they want to use it.
